PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

CSUMB Academic III Looking North

CSU Monterey Bay Academic III, Seaside, CA

Construction is underway at a new academic building for CSU Monterey Bay’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS). Through the Collaborative Design-Build approach, Otto Construction and WRNS Studio worked with the campus to design a new two-story, 48,000SF building that will bring together CAHSS programs that are currently spread out across the campus. The new building will feature classrooms, learning labs, department suites, an art gallery, informal gathering spaces, a state-of-the-art 200-seat film screening room, and an amphitheater. Designed to meet LEED Gold standards, the new building will contribute to the campus’ sustainability goals.  Students and staff can look forward to enjoying this exciting new learning experience in the Fall of 2019.

“I have had the opportunity to work with Elliott over the last year on the preconstruction phase of the UC  Davis Tercero Dining Commons 2 project. His hard work and diligence to see tasks through have been a major factor to the success of this project. My observation of Elliott is that there is no task that he is not willing to take on, which makes him a great asset to any team. He always has a positive, can-do attitude, even when our team has been faced with difficult issues. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and is always on the forefront to learn more.” – Melissa Barrenchea, Project Manager
