Allison Otto

President & CEO
With Otto Since: 2000
As President Allison sets the tone and direction of the company with a customer first, teamwork approach that filters throughout all departments. Part of her responsibilities include acquiring new business and maintaining client relations. She takes pride in seeing that everyone at Otto Construction is carrying forth the Otto Way – honesty, integrity and compassion for others. Allison has a passion for the outdoors and loves to travel, and one day wants to head to the airport and hop on the next flight out – wherever that may be! But don’t worry…her ticket will be round trip!

Carol Otto

Board Secretary
With Otto Since: 1980

Carol is the proud owner of Otto Construction and represents the second generation of the Otto Family. She attributes the success and strength of the Otto Way to all the dedicated employees. She cheers on our team at groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, project milestones, and everything in between. Carol enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carl Barrett

Board Member
With Otto Since: 1993
Carl worked his way up the ladder (pun intended) and served as President of Otto Construction for seven years and is now a member of Otto’s Board of Directors. Despite being a long-term resident of Northern California, he remains a loyal LA Dodgers and Rams fan, but still shows his local pride as he cheers for the Sacramento Kings. Carl and his wife enjoy a life of leisure as retirees traveling to tropical destinations, and walking their two dogs, Gracie and Buddy.

John Hayward

Operations Manager
With Otto Since: 1988

There is no short way of describing the plethora of responsibilities John handles, but his primary function is directing the day-to-day happenings of our Operations Department. He especially enjoys recruiting Project Managers and Project Engineers, and loves being a mentor and using his years of construction experience to help them develop their talents.

Even during his time off John continues to push himself by training for and competing in triathlons while still making time to care for his dogs, cats, goats, sheep … and Sebastian the llama.

Preston Hatch

Chief Financial Officer, CPA
With Otto Since: 2019

As a CPA, Preston oversees and manages all financial functions and reporting for Otto Construction. Most may think numbers are … not fun, but he and his team of expert accountants will beg to differ.

Preston works hard so he can play hard and enjoy family time in Tahoe or cheering for his boys, the Dodgers, or the Cowboys at sporting events.

Robert Ussery

General Superintendent
With Otto Since: 1990

Robert started his career at Otto as an Apprentice Carpenter, steadily advancing to Foreman, Superintendent, and is now the General Superintendent. In his current position he supervises the Operations Department from the field perspective.

He also plays a vital role on the management team, the safety committee, and the business development committee. Even though he cheers for the Yankees and Cowboys, Otto Construction is lucky to have him on the team.

Natalie Ghilain

Chief Estimator
With Otto Since: 1999

As Chief Estimator, Natalie leads the project team during preconstruction and handles bidding, constructability reviews and value engineering, ensuring that project stakeholders get the best possible value. You’ll have a tough time trying to keep up with Natalie outside of work because she is constantly on the move swimming, biking, running, or traveling.

However, she does enjoy relaxing with a crossword puzzle, perfecting her musical skills while playing the piano or drums, and even catching up with friends over nachos.
